SFI produces high performance metal and polymer bars, plates, tubes, and rods. Product geometries available from SFI include 1" and 7" diameter round cross section bars, as well as 1"x1" and 2"x2" square cross section bars. We can also ECAE process materials with plate geometry. We can roll ECAE processed bars to sheet, area reduction or back-extrude to suit, and perform conventional and ultrahigh vacuum heat treatments. We have experience with many metal alloys from ductile copper to difficult-to-deform tungsten. These include titanium, aluminum, magnesium, steels, refractory metals/alloys, and polymers. In addition to bulk processing, we can fully consolidate powder at lower temperatures than conventional (eg HIP) methods. Call us for more information.
We also design and manufacture SPD processing systems including tooling, custom hydraulic press systems, and associated equipment. Our tooling technologies allow end users to generate results not possible with the less refined ECAP tools typical of university labs and other SPD companies. With forthcoming sales of production tooling, we can look back with pride on tooling that has proved indispensable to some of the world's leading government and commercial research organizations.
